Red’s Smokehouse’s popularity throughout its two years at the City Market has afforded them the opportunity to branch out and open a bbq-burger fusion food “trailer,” called Red’s Smokehouse Burgers & Such. They were first located on the south side of Lansing, but recently moved to the food truck court on the corner of Larch and Grand River in Old Town. After proving successful, Red’s Smokehouse owner, Carol Smith, has decided to focus all of her efforts on the food trailer and opening her own restaurant. Red’s Smokehouse’s last day at the Market will be November 26th, 2016.
“We have loved our time at the market. [We] are thankful for our customers that have made us successful and LEPFA for all they have done for us,” said Smith. LEPFA stands for Lansing Entertainment and Public Facilities Authority. It is the entity that manages the city-owned building.
While the trailer will remain at the Old Town Food Court, even throughout the winter, Red’s Smokehouse’s will begin their restaurant build-out inside the Allen Street Market Complex.
