Memorial Day Season Kick Off
Monday, May 29th 12 pm – 8 pm
Nothing says summer like the opening of River Town Adventures!
Grilling starts at noon and there will be raffle giveaways all day long.
River Town will be introducing their VIP (very important paddler) card!
This will be a punch card to earn discounts on future trips/rentals!
Starting at 5 pm, they will have a sprint kayak race hosted by Red Paddle! Use River Town’s kayaks & race between the bridges. ($5 to participate)
Red Paddle will be giving away two free entries to the Red Paddle kayak race to male and female winners!
Movie Night on the River
Thursday, June 1st 9:30 pm
This is the first movie night of the season at River Town Adventures! They have teamed up with Lansing Public Media Center to show the movie, The Shallows, starting at 9:30 pm. Admission is free.
Feel free to come earlier and get settled in your own or rented kayak, or bring a camping chair to watch from the River Trail. Anchors will not be available, so if you want to stay stationary, there will be a few places you can tie your kayak to.
The Waterfront Bar and Grill will be serving adult refreshments before and during the film to consume on their patio. Sandwiches, pizza, and more are available dine-in or take-out as well.

June 2017 Oars & Ales
Friday, June 16th 5 pm – 8:30 pm
Lansing Brewing Company and River Town Adventures are partnering once again this summer to bring you Oars & Ales events on June 16th (registration now OPEN), July 15th, August 18th, and September 16th!
Participants will be picked up at Lansing Brewing Company and will be transported to the Red Cedar River at Aurelius Rd to begin their 2-hour kayaking or canoe trip, ending at the Lansing City Market! Participants will then return to Lansing Brewing Company for the afterparty to swap stories of their adventure!
Participants will receive a t-shirt (register by June 2nd to guarantee your t-shirt size), a to-go crowler, a crowler coozie, a snack for the river, and awesome giveaways!
Additional crowlers available for purchase.
4 fleets of 25 will be available, starting at 5:00, 5:30, 6:00 and 6:30. A mixture of single kayaks, double kayaks, and canoes will be available for each fleet, on a first come, first served basis. You are welcome to bring your own boat if you prefer, and it will be shuttled to the launch point by River Town Adventures and then back to your car. *Price of event remains the same if you choose to bring your own boat.
No refunds will be issued due to inclement weather. In the event of light rain, Oars & Ales will still go on! If inclement weather causes event organizers to cancel due to safety, you will still be invited to LBC to pick up your event pack, including a voucher to River Town Adventures to use at your convenience.

Red Paddle Race
June 24th 9 am
The Red Paddle race is a time-trial style kayak race, that will start at the Clippert / Kalamazoo Street trail head and will continue down the Red Cedar River to the Downtown Lansing City Market. Racers will park at the launch site at Kircher Municipal Park, and will be shuttled back to vehicles after awards and broohaha.
What: Time Trial Race of Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced Kayakers
Distance: 4.08 Miles and greater
Type: Men and Women Ages 18+
How: Mostly with your arms
Where: Park at Kircher Baseball Park whether you are renting a kayak or not. Shuttles running you from finish line to start.
